We overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony. Therefore believers testify of the truth of God's Word that has been worked out in their lives; tried, tested and proven to be trustworthy. By faith we can, even in our day and age, see the practical outworking of God's word in our lives.

When someone asks you to give your testimony in front of a large crowd, don’t you immediately feel small and unworthy for the unspeakable honor it is to be a mouthpiece for God’s glory? Well, that is how I feel now as I sit here writing. No, I am not standing in front of you, but I do know that what I write will be heard by many. It humbles me.

Lynn’s Testimony:
 Mike and I met when we lived across the street from each other in Mission Viejo, CA. I was very busy in nursing school, but we dated occasionally until I graduated. Three months later we got engaged, and 7 months later were married on April 9, 1988. I was very worldly and living for myself. Mike and I treated each other like roommates, not husband and wife. We used our differences as criticisms against each other, instead of learning to compliment each other. I worked night shift and alternate weekends, and Mike worked on weekdays. On our days off together we had a bad habit of indulging in wine or beer, which fueled a lot of our problems.

 I am delighted to write a brief update about the Lord’s work here in Namibia, especially in our lives. We have quite a story to tell of God’s dealings with us until now. We started out totally ignorant and for that reason many unpleasant things were used of God to show us on the way that we are in today. I am sure we must be among those with whom God is most patient. Many things could have been avoided would there have been more mature brothers around to lead us by their example. But alas, we were alone in Africa; seeking God with thousands of other confused “Christians” around; only the Lord could help us.

"And I will give thee the treasures of darkness,
and hidden riches of secret places."
Isaiah 45:3a
 It has been about fourteen years since I heard a message on this passage. At the time that I heard the message, I had already been struggling with health problems and could relate to the message in many ways. The point of the sermon was that God sometimes allows trials that we do not understand to impart deep spiritual treasures to His children. Since I had had physical difficulties most of my adult life, these kind of trials were familiar to me. Now God’s Word was telling me that there were treasures that could only be found by going through these dark times.
